Terrains of Iceland.

Collection I

The grandeur of absence.

Sept 1, 2017

Mountains that never come closer, horses that don’t wander and streams that never seem to end. A tone set for the hundreds of kilometers yet to discover.

A terrain that seemed to change with each glance out the window, transforming every quarter of an hour, stopping countlessly to watch, wonder and stay still..

Doubtless.

July 18, 2017

Experiences heightened by nature and strangers met, stories told and farewells shared on cross-walks, boats and the open road to somewhere.

Electric blue hair that only seemed to compete with her equally blue gaze. Impossible to miss Claire, a tourist from Chicago, across the street.

Reykjavik, Iceland

Seek, stop, remember.

April 26, 2020

A pause to let the stillness of imaginary worlds, on a planet not our own. Horizons full of promise, tracks to follow, that are only our own.

Arriving at Mýrdalshreppur, a lot like walking into a film. Stark, jarring and astounding in the memories that prevail, etched, painted, sprayed on a plane abandoned, decades past, decades more to come.

Crossing an otherworldly terrain. Every grain of black beach sand, a sight once experienced, never forgotten.

Mýrdalshreppur, Iceland

Poise, awakened.

Sept 1, 2017

Clouds battling mountains, one winning and the other lost, reversing only moments later — leaving images ever-changing, never to be seen again.

Faces met, through travels temporary, leaving behind memoried encounters, in strange beautiful lands. Wandering stories, waiting to be told, beheld and remembered.

Travels of the soul need not a single step.

April 26, 2020

Mountains rising, waterfalls cascading,
glaciers breaking and people conversing. Honoring beauty, minds ablaze, feelings of grace, distances arrived and left in haste.

Every journey, a discovery. Every departure, an abruptness. Capturing what the camera can see, hiding what only the wanderers keep for stories shared.
